XXX = Business Unit XX = Type of Device (WS, SV, RT, etc...) XX = Department (Two digit letter for department, TS = Technical Support, etc...) XX = Number within department (digit number 01, 02, 03, etc...) XXX = Identifier, if it's a virtual machine it would be VSX for Linux, VSW for Windows XX = Location (Two digit abbreviation for city where the device is located) HTH, Jim From: David Lum [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, October 13, 2008 08:20 To: ML: NT System Admin Issues Subject: Server naming - virtual vs physical Those of you with a good mix of virtual servers in your environment - do you differentiate the virtual servers from the physical ones on the server name?
