Yes, we do spend a lot of time working on remediation for this threat.
Our free trial version of VIPRE does remove it.  If it doesn't, send us
the files and we'll find out why we don't detect it. 

It is a very, very difficult threat to remove, either manually or
automatically.

However, cleaning the machine is a band-aid at best. A lot of malware is
incredibly tenacious; everyone needs to start treating infected machines
the same way you would a hacked computer. You can't trust ANYTHING on
the machine; you have absolutely NO way to know EXACTLY what was done to
it. The only way to be 100% sure it's clean is to format and reinstall.

The single best way of preventing it from coming back: Take away local
admin from your end users. The principle of least privilege has been a
best practice in suitably capable operating environments for 3 or 4
decades for a reason.
