I have been using Magicjack for my only house phone for almost a year now. The sound quality is excellent, I can call anyone, anywhere in the United States for free, it costs $19.95 a year, and international rates are dirt cheap. Unfortunately, to address your question, I have not personally made any international calls, as I don't know anyone outside the US. (list members here excepted, of course, but I haven't called any of you guys). I do, however, have a coworker who has family in Mexico, and he has used his Magicjack to call them and has had no problems. The only negative issue I've had with it is that sometimes when you place or receive a call, one side or the other can't hear the other (my wife can't hear me, or I can't hear her). We simply hang up, call again, and it's fine. As others have said, don't read too much into the negative stuff you find on Google. Upset people are more apt to complain than happy people are to praise. Just like frowning is more prominent, even though it takes more muscles to frown than it does to smile...
