You might want to take a look at the lifesize range, they have some pretty low cost video conferencing equipment at runs at up to 30f/s at 720p, sharing content isn't a problem either as each unit has a VGA input, that allows you to connect a laptop and share the content with the far end.
Even Dell in the US have started selling them. http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/products/Video_Conferencing/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=bsd&cs=04&sku=A1914034 Cheers Matt -----Original Message----- From: Kurt Buff [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: 16 June 2009 17:27 To: NT System Admin Issues Subject: OTish: Video Conference equipment or facilities All, I've been tasked with investigating pricing of video conferencing equipment, with the following parameters: "It needs to be good quality so that we can have productive meetings and share screens and files easily. The work includes sessions at the whiteboard with ad hoc drawings so remote pan/tilt/zoom and capture should be considered as important." I have no idea where to look for this - it seems like a fairly contradictory set of requirements. I've looked at cameras with pan/tilt/zoom, but they mostly seem to be oriented towards surveillance, and probably not the highest quality video, and don't feature screen sharing. I'd also be interested if anyone in the Redmond or nearby areas knows of facilities that have a setup like this in place for rent for occasional use. ~ Finally, powerful endpoint security that ISN'T a resource hog! ~ ~ <http://www.sunbeltsoftware.com/Business/VIPRE-Enterprise/> ~ _____________________________________________________________ This e-mail (including all attachments) is confidential and may be privileged.
