  Just as an example, I have a Palm Centro.  I use Outlook at work,
Linux at home, and DateBk on the handheld.  They're all in sync, using
the HotSync protocol.  Palm Desktop at work, and pilot-link on Linux.
This is the way I've worked for close to a decade.

  With the Pre, I can't even *run* DateBk "out of the box", and if I
buy the emulator for $30, I can't sync it.  Even if they come up with
a sync solution for the emulator, it's questionable it will work with
pilot-link.
