To respond to both you and Ken, the state of Florida has a requirement of a balanced budget and it calls for a surplus incase of major down swing in the economy. That said it does not keep the politicians from spending every last penny on wasted projects that they can squeeze into the budget. Like rebuilding beaches only accessable to the rich, I have no problem with them doing public beaches just think those with million dollar homes should foot the bill for their own beach restoration. They also rebuild roads just because they have the money to do so instead of paving someones dirt road. They expect the homeowner to pay to have it paved first then the government will maintain the road. How about putting money into cleaning up sewage I don't see them doing that either. Once again they want the homeowners without a central sewage treatment to foot the bill for the upgrades and not get around to doing theres for years.
