AFAIK there are no problems whatsoever using SSMS 2008 instead of EM and QA. If you want to manage SQL 2008 with SSMS from SQL 2005, then there are apparently some hoops to jump through. Any DBAs out there who can chime in?

We're still a mixed shop running Win 2003 and Win 2008, some 32 and some 64. I've got management sold on (finally) making the move from SQL 2000 to 2008. One co-worker is very nervous about touching SQL 2000 databases using the SQL 2008 SSMS. I don't want to sell him short: is this in any way a legitimate fear? -- -- Gregory Waleed Kavalec --------------------------------------------- What matters?...
