If you make another queue to that printer from a different server (or workstation if it's direct), loading the same driver, does the problem still happen? This should narrow down if it's really something in the queue/driver config, or something with the printer itself. If it still happens, I'd look for the cold reset option on the printer to see if it still does it from factory defaults (plus your network config).
