You must have a special version, on my Win7 it’s printmanagement.msc
☺

The “printmanagament.msc” snap in on your local Win7 workstations can manage
both 32 bit and 64 bit drivers on 64 bit print servers as well.

Installing 32-bit drivers on a 64-bit server should be easy, but sometimes it's
not and frustrating. Here at our HQ office I installed the Print Server role
on a 32-bit server, just so I could connect to the production 64-bit server and
add 32-bit drivers. Also, be sure the drivers are certified, even if they are
an older version. I've found 64-bit Windows 2008 will accept them more readily.

Haven't tried Brian's method, will definitely do that next time my 64-bit
server pukes a 32-bit driver...

Also a lot of times this works way better if you do the x86 driver upload from
an x86 box. Go to \\printserver<file:///\\printserver> and click
printers/faxes, then right click and Server Properties and you can push the
drivers up remotely.

Download the 32 bit drivers, go to properties on each printer and choose update
driver then check the x32 box, point it to the files and next next next....

Subject: Printers
I have just started with a company and have been challenged to fix some issues
they have been having. Here is one issue...

They have a new server running Win2008 64 bit. They have installed a bunch of
printers using the drivers from the manufacturers but these are 64 bit drivers.
They have shared the printers to the general user (all 32 bit users) and no one
can print. Is it possible to have printers on a 64 bit server and share them to
the 32 bit user? The guy before me said he could not get the 32 bit drivers to
install on the server and so here I am.
I just want to make sure it is possible before I spend hours trying to get it
to work.
Any help would be great! Thanks!
Kelli
