I would also recommend Vipre as it is very unobtrusive and easy to configure.
However I am of the feeling that reactive AV is losing its effectiveness, and that AV combined with good whitelisting is the best way to try and keep systems clean. And, of course, not giving anyone admin rights who doesn't need them.
