The virtual registry can still be accessed, so maybe malware could exploit the
app, write itself there and then only run when the streamed app was launched?

I'm a bit of a noob in this zone too tho ;-)

So... I've never gotten around to deploying App-v. Seems to be a lot of smoke
and mirrors to me, but I admit I used to feel the same way about MOM. :-)

Therefore I start off by admitting ignorance (and saying that the documentation
overview of "this is what it does and how it does it" is pretty poor).

I don't question your answer. I just don't understand it. I thought the sandbox
that App-v built around the streamed application was supposed to virtualize
everything that the application did/used? Is that not true?

Still can be exploited, and still needs to be updated.

Is an App-V streamed application, say, Excel 2000, still vulnerable to
exploitation in the same way as a traditionally-installed app? Or does the
streaming somehow insulate the process? My gut instinct says it can still be
exploited, maybe someone can provide a little irrefutable clarity.

TIA,

JRR
