don't' know about your switch specifically but with Cisco's you have to set the ip helper address on the VLAN. ________________________________

The site has grown, so I need more dhcp addresses. I have a 3com (now HP) 5500G switch. I added a secondary subnet to the existing vlan, so current subnet unchanged. On the dhcp server, which is on the current vlan with an IP address in the older range, I created a new DHCP scope to accommodate the new subnet. I'm not sure though the next step. How do I get clients to get a dhcp address from the new scope? Do I need to add a secondary IP, in the new scope, to the existing dhcp server? Should I do that on the existing interface, or a different interface? Or something else? I could increase the current scope to class b, but I'd prefer this method. Suggestions, those of you wiser than me on this topic?
