You mustn't hit enter after you see "About to boot kernel:..." !
You have to wait until both the kernel and the installer ramdisk image
are extracted and after that miboot will enter the kernel.
This may take some time on your system - just wait.
It might also be that your PowerBook simply doesn't have enough memory
to extract both the kernel and installer ramdisk into the main memory.
As I already said you need at least 24 MB of RAM (and perhaps even that
might not be enough).
As Daniel already said you can find out how much memory you have by
booting from the boot floppy or the MacOS CD and then clicking on the
apple in the upper left corner and selecting the very first menu item
("About this macintosh" or something like this).

Yes, I am selecting Debian Sarge installer and have at the bottom of
screen
kernel: miboot.image root: <autodetect>
ramdisk: ramdisk.sarge.gz ramdisk_size: 16384
video:nbpmacfb vmode: autodetect
cmode: <autodetect>
other:i2cr=0xa9000000 keyboard_semds_linux_keykodes=1
more...
Then I click boot
nothing happens
I hit enter
Top of the screen:
About to boot kernel: miboot.image
kernel arguments are ramdisk_size=16384 video=nbpmacfb
i2cr=0xA9000000 keyboard_sends_linux_keycodes=1
I hit "return" again
second string has changed
kernel arguments are root=/dev/hda8 video=nbpmacfb 12cr=0xA9000000
keyboard_sends_linux_keykodes=1
I am hitting return again and again but nothing happens...
What I did wrong?
miBoot.iso didn't boot and I just booted MacOs disk tools floppy with
miboot cd in cdrom, then made a 9 mb hfs partition, then copied all
folders from cd to first partition and entered on folder to see amcos
smiles. After that I can boot that screen but nothing after.
Thanks

You should be able to select the "Debian Sarge Installer" penguin with
either the mouse or the cursor left/right keys.
Once one configuration is selected you can boot the selected kernel by
clicking on the "boot" penguin or hitting the return key.

Thank you very much!
With your help I have managed to copy miBoot cd to 9 mb partition I
created on my hard drive.
I had read release notes, but did not understand what to do next...
I have a screen with three penguins on the top of the screen
2.4.27 NuBus - PowerMac Debian Sarge Installer boot
and if I choose one of them I can see boot option and change them
But how can I run debian sarge installer???
What should I do to run it?
I do not realize how to boot any of these three penguins :)
Thanks
Norayr
