Hi Vito,

I needed to open the case of the media bay module. Mine contained a  
TEAC 10x (Apple claimed 12x) CD-ROM drive whose form factor is very  
close to the standard slim-line CD-ROM drives. In order to dissassemble  
I needed to remove the four screws on the sides of the module and pull  
the grey bottom case. The connector adaptor board fitted with the  
CD-W28E.
Only one of the mounting screw holes was at the same position but  
that's sufficient.

I don't know if the media bay case of the 6x and 8x units are different.
