Hmpf, I just realized that this cannot work with all PowerBooks that use
a PCMCIA card for network connectivity (Sorry Daniel!).
PCMCIA is activated later on during the boot process (by some userspace
tool that is sitting in the rootfs, which is a nice chicken-and-egg
problem btw;).

I don't think that this behaviour is easy to change.
