unfortunately not. you could possibly do this via the  inputChanged
callback that gets triggered in knobChanged but currently it only
fires when the properties panel is open. this has been filed as bug
#15613. Once it's fixed it would definitely be possible but i think
would be a nice feature if it was done automagically.
