I had some issues with SSDs on Windows 7, too. Try to disable any power saving 
options concerning hard disks and enable hot swap in bios for the SATA port the 
SSD is connected to. It might be worth a try to completely change the cache 
location. Do you have access to other workstations that have the same issue?
The only other case when I had these Nuke freezes whenever I changed values or 
connections was with a few 3D scenes in my tree.
