The short answer is:
You can only factor out additions from a 3D render.

A longer answer: multiplications are impossible to factor out, in theory.
In practice, it will work in some cases (assuming you have no semi opaque fragments, i.e. due to motion blur etc.) -- the error will only be on such pixels and typically around 10% (but it can be /much/ larger, depending on the input).

This means if you try to factor out stuff like occlusion/shadows, your beauty will /never/ match your comped passes.

This is /very/ basic comp math. I suggest looking at how an OVER operation works, mathematically, to understand why this indeed so.
