Well you can put sth onto the object for a start...
have it as a particle emitter, use it as a mask...
light it...
I think it depends a bit on the subject, sometimes object tracks that are fixed in position are more valuable than the ones with an actual camera and moving...

But hey it surely is a great addition to the toolset, having that in nuke.
