I don't know. Do you mean in PFTrack 2016?
I have had no reply yet to my question what else is new in PFTrack 2016,
so I won't upgrade until I know. Weird how there are no release notes or
announcements anywhere to be found. Or maybe I'm not looking in the
rights spot.
There are a couple of features I would upgrade in a heard beat for, but
not the st map thing is not one of them.

Are these float now? As PF could only output 8bit at one point.
Do we know if they have added the 1/2 pixel required to stop
unnecessary interpolation?
ie
set cut_paste_input [stack 0]
version 9.0 v8
push $cut_paste_input
Expression {
expr0 (x+0.5)/width
expr1 (y+0.5)/height
name UVmap
}

Well... it's not that we don't know that kind of 'smart thinking'
from other software vendors, do we?
Hope dies last - but it ultimately will, right? ;)
Interesting to know you see quality issues with the STMaps from
PFTrack. Wondering if that
is also the case with the built-in workflow of the new PFTrack versions.

Thanks for confirming Holger.
I have asked them now as well and go tthe same reply (no longer
being developed because of the new STMap workflow).
Whilst love PFTrack and will certainly upgrade, I don't like being
forced into it like this.
So I'm creating my own STMaps now via Nuke 9.
I tried creating them through PFTrack but the quality/accuracy
wasn't as good as using the PFBarrel plugin in Nuke 9 to produce them.
I would have hoped that they at least compile their code for Nuke 10
and then let it phase out after a fair amount of time.

frank

Hi Frank,
asked them exactly this question last week.
Doesn't exist anymore. The official workflow from PFTrack is now to
export STMaps:

Question is of course whatcha gonna do if you have an older version
of PFTrack?
They apparently didn't think about that...
But you can always pipe a UV ramp image through the undistort in
PFTrack and
render that to be used in Nuke i think.

Holger

Does anybody know about the whereabouts of the PFBarrel plugin
these days?
For Nuke 10 that is??
