If we want to make any progress to the world dominance of python in science, we need to go professionally about it. First we need to streamline the development infrastructure and get the distribution under control. Then we need to streamline the code so the bunch of amateurs doesn't understand what's going on and cannot effectively threaten a fork anymore. Then, we need to get our version of nans, labeled arrays and other tools in so we have the right hooks to compete downstream.
