There were another problem with autoconf I had to fixed when been trying to 
build nut-trunk on CentOS4:

Looks like there are references in configure.in to a macros AC_TYPE_* that are 
not known 
to RHEL4 autoconf version. Removing appropriate AC_CHECK_FUNCS call from 
configure.in 
don't break anything for RHEL4 as far as I had tested:
