I was able to connect to upsd with telnet: $ telnet localhost 3493 Trying 127.0.0.1... Connected to localhost. Escape character is '^]'. GET UPSDESC Z2UPS UPSDESC Z2UPS "z2 power" GET VAR Z2UPS UPS.STATUS VAR Z2UPS UPS.STATUS "OL CHRG"
