Citeren Justin Piszcz <jpis...@lucidpixels.com>:

Is it possible that a different USB Chip may act differently causing this problem? As I noted CD/DVD (USB) and all other USB devices function properly.

This may be due to the fact that we reconnect, instead of retry on many signs of problems in the usbhid-ups driver. For many UPS devices connected through USB, this may be the only solution to be able to talk to them again.

Reconnecting requires reading lots of data from the UPS (sometimes hundreds of reports) and if reading one report fails, it may trigger another reconnect. If the connection to the UPS fails regularly, this may mean that we will never be able to establish a connection.

Best regards, Arjen
