Thank you Renaud. I got through that error but another one unfortunately
surfaced while running bin/nutch:

bin/nutch: line 96: syntax error near unexpected token `do

'

bin/nutch: line 96: `for f in $NUTCH_HOME/build/nutch-*.job; do

'

Am I wasting my time trying to get it running under cygwin? I'm sorry for the
barrage of stupid questions. I will update the wiki to help out the next guy
if/when I get it running.

Kevin,

make sure that you have installed the utility "uname" in cygwin

or hack it and replace

cygwin=false
case "`uname`" in
CYGWIN*) cygwin=true;;
esac

by

cygwin=true

let us know if that works...
