Thanks Tekin, I'd like to say how helpful NWRUG has been to me over the years. I'm in London now and it's helped me realise what I miss from NWRUG.
The open and helpful comradery of the community has been a large cause of my professional development. Knowing that there is an active Ruby scene in Manchester helped me make my decision to stop dilly-dallying with WordPress and become a full-time freelance Ruby dev, a very good decision! As a freelancer I was challenged and encouraged to understand my value and was able to achieve a better day rate, and was given (and shared) plenty of leads. It has been a joy getting to know a number of you personally too. For me, the best part of the meetings I came to was the socialising, sharing news and best-practice informally, and hearing about the interesting things being built.
