As an alternative to the locked down access point, thought I'd run this one past you.
Take a Possio PX20 Gateway: http://www.possio.com/spread.asp?dynfile=tech&cat=2&loop=2&dh=2 Turn it into model WX502 by replacing the Bluetooth portion with an Ethernet CF card, replace 802.11b card with PRISM 2 802.11b card, load the exciting Host AP/WDS code from Jouni http://people.ssh.com/jkm/Prism2/ And you end up with a very configurable access point that fully supports WDS, has the IBM OSGi server. It can even run off internal batteries. I'm really impressed with the speed of the Host AP code, very fast! At the very least you need to check out the Host AP/WDS solution.
