All, Is there a good way to identify the brand of wireless gateway from the MAC address? I'm not sure if WEP is encapsulated within the Ethernet packet or around the ethernet packet so maybe this question is not even valid, but shouldn't I be able to look up the MAC address of the AP and find the manufacturer and possibly the model? I know wired Ethernet cards have the first few bytes of the MAC address the same for all cards manufactured by the same vendor. I'd assume the same is true with wireless. Is it?
