>Ideas? Options? Bueller? I'm tired of all of the Time Warner Cable shenanigans. The solution is easy. Switch to an ISP that doesn't do this. By staying a customer of Time Warner Cable internet service you are only supporting and encouraging their actions that you despise. A list of Wireless-Friendly ISPs http://www.eff.org/Infra/Wireless_cellular_radio/wireless_friendly_isp_list.html The ones that service NYC: -AceDSL, -Bway.Net, -Cloud9, -Covad, -Speakeasy DSL install times are very quick now, especially compared to the old 60 day install times. Listen to what your ISP is requiring. "remove all information on the nycwireless.com website ...". Guess this ISP is not only interested in limiting your network usage but also limting your free speech. Second requirement, "limit access only to permanent residents of your household." This means that if your friend comes over and sits in your place with their laptop, you can't give them your WEP key. Also don't have any guests at your place sit down at your computer. Maybe soon Time Warner will install a video camera in your apartment, so that they can watch to see that you are the only person using your computer, and the only person watching your television. --Terry Schmidt -- NYCwireless - http://www.nycwireless.net/ Un/Subscribe: http://lists.nycwireless.net/mailman/listinfo/nycwireless/ Archives: http://lists.nycwireless.net/pipermail/nycwireless/
