This is a summary of the Hudson-Mohawk Birdline reports for the week 
ending  16 November 2011.  Report your sightings in New York's

This week's report does not include telephone reports from 11/16 due to 
equipment problems.

Sixty-seven species were reported this week. The most-reported species 
include Common Loon (7 reports), Bufflehead (6 ), American Coot (5), 
Ruddy Duck (5) and Northern Harrier (5).


The best birds were:

GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE: Queensbury 11/13.

LONG-TAILED DUCK: Collins Lake 11/11(3); Stockport Flats 11/15 (2).

RED-BREASTED MERGANSER: Stanton Pond 11/13, 11/15.

RED-NECKED GREBE: Tomhannock 11/11, 11/12.

RED-SHOULDERED HAWK: Vosburgh Marsh 11/15.

ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK: Fort Edward 11/10.

MERLIN: Stockport Flats 11/15.

NORTHERN SHRIKE: Saratoga 11/13.

AMERICAN PIPIT: Livingston 11/13 (15).

Snow Goose: Tomhannock 11/11.

Mute Swan: Tomhannock 11/11 (6), 11/12 (6).

Northern Shoveler: Stanton Pond 11/13 (4), 11/15 (8).

Greater Scaup: Tomhannock 11/11.

White-winged Scoter: Lake George 11/15 (11).

Horned Grebe: Tomhannock 11/11 (2), 11/12 (3).

Bald Eagle: Tomhannock 11/11 (2), 11/12 (2); Alcove Reservoir 11/15.

Dunlin: Collins Lake 11/16.

Carolina Wren: Tomhannock 11/11 (3); Collins Lake 11/16.

Golden-crowned Kinglet: Tomhannock 11/11 (3), 11/12.

Ruby-crowned Kinglet: Tomhannock 11/11, 11/12.

Fox Sparrow: Tomhannock 11/11.
