The previously reported Snowy Owl from Hicks Island, Napeague was 'joined' by
two others. Late this afternoon I observed a second Snowy perched well out in
the saltmarsh south of Napeague Harbor. Not quite believing I was seeing a
second, I rushed back to the Lazy Point boat landing to see if the original
bird remained on Hicks Island, it did. While scanning I noticed a white object
on a float in the harbor, a third Snowy. It does suggest a regional incursion
following the strong front that passed through. Also, a Short-eared Owl was
harassing the marsh Snowy at dusk.
