The field across from Oakland Lake (northeastern Queens) is still pulling in
migrants, with an ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER there today. Still some sparrows in
there, with 2 Savannahs most interesting. While they've been common
throughout migration, it seems late for that now. They seem to have been
there a few days, at least - wintering ones in northern Queens would be
unusual. Also good for the neighborhood - in fact the first one I've seen in
northern Queens - is a REDHEAD on the lake today. Did not see the Cackling
Goose there or on Alley Pond today.
