Spent a couple of hours searching the relevant spots this morning, including Coney Island Creek, without success.
As Doug Gochfeld mentioned yesterday, the Brooklyn coast and parks are a major wintering area for Ring-billed Gulls and there are numerous alternative spots that should be checked in case the bird has simply changed its preferred loafing or feeding sites.
