Central Park, Manhattan, N.Y. City - Sunday, August 9 - With ongoing nocturnal migrations each recent night, there have been some new additions to the southbound migrants showing at Central Park, with at least 14 species of migratory warblers present in the park this Sunday, as seen by birders and photographers walking independently and-or with not for profit guides and in support of birding for nonprofit organizations which support education, conservation, diversity in nature, and foster a caring community in birding, locally, regionally, and with some institutions and organizations, also worldwide.
A Cerulean Warbler had continued to be seen by many, many observers, and it is only assumed this one lingering individual in the Central Park Ramble is one of the two Ceruleans that had been present from late July - but that is not absolutely known with certainty. Multiple observers saw 1 Cerulaean Warbler on Sunday, as had been so since the re-find of just one, on Aug. 7th. Other warbler species in this park will be noted in a future report detailing some elsewhere-in-Manhattan sightings.
