This morning Seth Ausubel, Bob May, and I saw at least 3 different Black Terns
at Cupsogue park, along with one adult Roseate Tern and 2 Royals and a couple
of BT Grackles. The tide was high and shorebird numbers were low, with nothing
unusual(SB Dowitcher, BB PLover, Sanderlings, Red Knots, Western Willet,
Oystercatchers, etc). At nearby Pike's Beach there were about 20 Royal terns
and one Bonaparte's Gull in basic plumage. At Shinnecock Inlet around 10:30
there were a few distant Cory's Shearwaters with many terns. There seemed to be
a lot of swallows migrating west
