On Thursday 10/22, Sandy and I decided to take the 2 hour drive to Hammonasset State Park in Madison, Connecticut with hopes of seeing a Hudsonian Godwit that had been there since last Saturday. As soon as we pulled into the parking lot just west of the West Parking Lot, we saw the bird standing in the grass no more than 50 feet away. We spent several hours observing and photographing it. If sticks around a little longer it's a fantastic opportunity to see a godwit up close and personal. Here's a link to one of the several hundred photos I took. http://lloydspitalnikphotos.com/v/recent_work/hudsonian_godwit_F5R1466.jpg.html -- Lloyd Lloyd Spitalnik's Wildlife Galleries www.lloydspitalnikphotos.com www.blog.lloydspitalnikphotos.com |
