From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Willie D'Anna and Betsy Potter Sent: Tuesday, March 30, 2010 6:24 PM To: Geneseebirds; NYSBirds; [email protected] Subject: [nysbirds-l] Gr. White-fronted Goose, Ruddy Shelduck - Niagara County
... the RUDDY SHELDUCK that was discovered here by David Mark a couple of weeks ago, was seen. ... The legs appeared to be unbanded - but so were the Ruddy Shelduck's... Does anyone band captive waterfowl the way they're supposed to? Of all the free-flying exotic waterfowl I've seen, of all the species that are very common in captivity and basically impossible to occur in North America from a wild origin (e.g., Egyptian Goose), I don't think I have EVER seen a band on a leg.
