A singing male Mourning Warbler was seen this morning from about 9:45 - 11:00AM, at the Quogue Wildlife Refuge, along the boardwalk area parallel to the rail road tracks. The bird was seen on both sides of the walkway, between the stream and the overspill sitting area. The bird was there when we left.

A bird seen and heard yesterday - but not relocated today - was a Yellow-throated Warbler, in the pine trees at the end of the dirt path leading to the air-base border, again, parallel to the rail road tracks. If you are unfamiliar with the Refuge, please ask at the Nature Center for information. Other warblers seen there recently include Blue-winged, Redstart, Parula, Yellow, Common Yellowthroat, and Ovenbird. Two male white-crowned sparrows were also seen near the entranceway to the Nature Center today.
