The Queens County Bird Club Mississippi Kite at Ward Pound Ridge would be
Westchester County’s second record if submitted and accepted by NYSARC. I
encourage all those participants to submit reports. Reports can now be
submitted electronically by an online form, e-mail or by regular mail;
see
http://www.nybirds.org/NYSARC/goodreport.htm

The first NYSARC record for the county was in Rye, May 1986. There have been
two other reports, not submitted to NYSARC, in May and August 1995.

For those interested I have a PDF file on the Hudson River Audubon Web site
detailing most reported rarities, previously rare species, and species becoming
rare for Westchester County. It includes most records found in print since the
1950’s. It can be found at http://www.hras.org/pdffiles/annotated.pdf
