My wife Amy and I are planning a trip to search for some boreal species, especially Spruce Grouse and Bicknell's for this weekend and next week. We are planning to visit Whiteface memorial Highway and Adirondacks points and I was hoping for some help. Are there any consistent places for Spruce Grouse near Whiteface (or elsewhere)? If Whiteface highway only opens at 9am will that severely hamper our chances of hearing/seeing them? I have the Peterson and Lee, "Adirondack Birding" if any wants to reference locations from that book. Thanks in advance!
