Our NYC Audubon Wednesday mornings migration birding group saw 47 species.
The highlights were 5 Woodpecker species (Red-bellied, Downy, Hairy,
Sapsucker, and Flicker), 5 Warbler species ( Yellow-rumps, Palm, Pine,
Blackpoll,
and Redstart), 5 Sparrow species (Song, Swamp, White-throat, Chipping and
Lincoln's(2)). The two Lincoln's sparrows were located just north of the
upper lobe. It was a very birdie day with many Hermit Thrushes and many
Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers. There were hundreds of birds in the park.
