Good Evening, I am passing on a message from Patrick Baglee who reported that the Staten Island Mississippi Kite was actively feeding this morning between 07.50 and 08.20 to the south of the pond in the Cemetery, mainly over the area of equipment storage. That is before the rains came.
For those of you interested, I have posted photos of the Blue Grosbeaks as well as the Kite on my blog here ( http://birdingdude.blogspot.com/2013/06/mississippi-kite-and-blue-grosbeaks-in.html). The digiscope shot of the female Blue Grosbeak carrying nesting material is good evidence that they are at least trying to nest. Good Birding Peeps!
