Hello fellow birders, Had a great day birding at Marine Park with 11 species of Sparrows. A group effort with Kier Randall, Jerry Layton, Peter Dorosh, Heydi Lopes, Rob Jett and Tom Preston. We ended the day with a Clay-colored Sparrow that was tweeted by Rob. 3 of us were leaving and went back in to locate it. Kier first saw the Nelson's Sparrows and more and more kept popping out of the phragmites. 10 seems like a conservative number. We first saw 3 and then more kept popping up between the path and the bank left of the Osprey platform. We checked back later in the day looking for a Dickcissel that Kier had seen when the sun came out and there was no sight of them.
