Adding little to Pat's (& Nadir's) report(s) from Central Park
(Manhattan, N.Y. City), an ongoing search at the Loch / Ravine area
for Thursday's unexpected Virginia Rail seems to still be a 'no' for
today, with multiple searchers. I also failed to find most of the
migrants of the last several days, excepting that L. waterthrush as
has been reported, and a few other linger-ers; the last sighting I
know of for the reservoir's Red-necked Grebe was Wed. 4/2, but again I
was unable to find it today and assume it left as of Thurs. The
reservoir in general seemed a bit less 'ducky" although over 75 N.
Shovelers continued; that species also in some numbers at the Lake, &
a few in other places lately. Nadir's earlier report reminded me that
I had been remiss in noting that a few Winter Wrens have been passing
thru and a few have also been singing this week, heard & seen in
several locations around the park. I didn't notice any egrets today,
while the "heron tree" on the west side of the Point (lake) had 3
Black-crowned Night, and one Great Blue Heron. Where are the swallows
- on the way any day now... if we can move on to a little more mild-ing.

good weekend birds,
