Today, from 0845 to 1125, I walked the above's woods and fields, filling in
some of the blanks, that permeate my seasonal "wish-list". FOS species
included: Gray-cheeked Thrush; Blue-winged Warbler; Chestnut-sided Warbler;
Prairie Warbler; Scarlet Tanager and Baltimore Oriole.

The most numerous specie seen/ heard today was a warbler, but not the
ubiquitous yellow-rumped... no, that honor fell to the black-and-white. I
wish I had started to count them when I entered the property, but since I
didn't, my educated guess would be at least 35, up to a max of 40 birds.
The most spectacular bird award would have to be shared by the singing
males of both the Scarlet Tanager and Baltimore Oriole species ! Bathed in
sunlight and back-lit by a gorgeous blue sky, they made the extra walking I
had to put in (because of my deficient map reading skills) a little less
painful and embarrassing !

Cheers,
Bob
