[Summer Tanager was still present in the Ramble, Mon., 19th]

Tuesday, 20 May, 2014 - Central Park, Manhattan, N.Y. City

This was an odd day in some sense of the migration observed here...
the activity level in the first 4-5 hours of the clear & sunny morning
was excellent, then it seemed to have "crashed" to an extreme degree &
also was not seen to pick up greatly at later hours. Did a lot of
migrants find such good feeding early that they could afford to rest
as much as seemed by around mid-day? To me, at least, this felt like
one of the 3 or 4 heavier migration days of this month, with variety
fairly good for this date, & numbers of some species excellent. A few
others I spoke with gave a similar assessment, while for some it was
just average-typical-normal...
