There were two Thick-billed Murres at Montauk Pt this afternoon. Andy Griswold and a CT Audubon group found these birds from the bluffs at Camp Hero and alerted us over at the restaurant.
One bird stayed close to the bluffs, just north of the parking area at Camp Hero and just south of Turtle Cove. The other, which we never saw, had been directly off the point, and apparently was later visible from the restaurant.
