A group of us checked the dried up ponds between West End 2 and the nature center this afternoon. After a thorough search, no Baird's Sandpiper could be located. However in the middle pond, among the Semipalmated Sandpipers and Plovers, a Western Sandpiper was observed preening itself and then roosting right out in the open.
