I hear what Harvey's saying about the impact that setting inappropriately low pricing expectations has on the industry, but Kent has a good point too. Depending what study you believe, there's anything from a 20:1 to 40:1 difference in productivity between novice and expert programmers. If you recognise you're at the lower end of the scale that should be a factor in determining your pricing.
