Drupal 6 is fast for anonymous users. Basically everything is cached so it is just lifting content from about a dozen cache tables. Looks like this is a stripped down version as well, css has been custom handled and placed into 3 files rather than the dozens you usually have.
Wait till you try logging in and then it'll slow down to 'normal' speeds. Great site though, obviously lots of work has gone into refining it for looks as well as performance. It is all credit to Drupal that it can be extended beyond mere social/hobby sites.
